Our Battle is Won

Sometimes The Lord speaks to us in moments we don’t expect to get anything out of. It is in the times of turmoil and doubt that He is able to communicate with us in a way that we might not notice at our highest moments.

We acknowledge of course that he is still King no matter what, but do we account for His true splendor in the battles of tomorrow? We often say, “God has already been there, so you need not worry.” But even sometimes I find that doesn’t seem to give me full reassurance. Sure, He has already been there, but that doesn’t mean tomorrow will be good. But where I find hope is where he tells us I have gone ahead of you and fought the battle for you, I have already won the victory. He prepares a place for us, if only we be still and rest in Him.

2 Chronicles 32:8 says “With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Instead of letting our Savior fight our battles for us, why do we so often take back what we have already laid down at The Cross? For when we seek our own way we are really fighting against our God. For as we should remember, he is in tomorrow; we are not.

2 Chronicles 13:2- “Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with their battle trumpets to sound the call to battle against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your fathers, for you cannot succeed.”

How much of an encouragement is that to us as believers? That our enemies cannot and will not win against our God! Even when it may have felt hopeless for me. When I was not sure I would be able to have a future like I had always dreamed, like I felt God had placed upon my heart in the first place. It’s when I worry for my future children and the America they will see. Will they not be able to have the pride for this beautiful land as I did when I was a child and still today? Will our freedoms remain?

That is when God brought me back to Jeremiah Chapter 31. Such an encouragement, and reminder to remain steadfast in my confidence in Christ. Chapter 31:17- There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall come back to their own country.

It is not that I know tomorrow that would ever give me hope, what gives me hope is I know who holds tomorrow and my God will never fail! If God be for me who then can be against me? Once, we know this everything comes after.

Whatever you may be facing today, put on your armor and walk with confidence knowing that your God has got this!

And always remember that you are a daughter divinely designed by God!
