The Victory of Resurrection Day!
“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay,” – Matthew 28:5-6.
It’s here; The Greatest Sunday. In the middle of the grief and sorrow of losing their great teacher, He would now become their Savior. For without The Resurrection, He would remain a memory of someone who was, but would have left them with no hope for their future.
The disciples were going back to their old jobs, their old way of life, before they knew that Jesus was alive and all He said He was! In this trial, they were not only grieving their friend, they too were afraid they would lose their lives for the association they had with this Jesus. This Jesus that with their knowledge at the time, had suffered and died by the hands of men.
It was morning, and the women who loved Jesus came to pay their respects. They felt just as sorrowful, but maybe just being near His body might bring them some comfort. Little did they know what they would find; or rather not find when they came to that tomb.
In the time they thought was the end, instead of Jesus being defeated; He was just getting busy. For he needed that 3 days in order to steal the keys of death and hades from satan, save every past, present, and future human from their sins, and tear the veil separating us from access to The Father. He was making a way when we couldn’t even see it. When they thought it was the end, it was just the beginning.
“And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, ‘Truly this was the Son of God,’ – Mark 15:37-39.
Christ was in our past, he knew us from our Mother’s womb, the Bible tells us. He knows the number of hairs on our head, He sees every sparrow that falls. Christ is in our present and He holds our future. Today and every day we celebrate, Christ died and rose again to save us, from our sins, from our fears, from our doubts and our unbelief. And one glorious day, Divinely Designed Daughter He is returning to take us; His Bride home to the place He has prepared for us. Celebrate knowing that this isn’t your end, this is your beginning. We are here for just a short time and then forever with Christ. He has risen, Christ has won the battle, so let’s live in victory today!
